Polar Bear rocks Apollo
23 November 2012

Friends of the Earth rocked the London comedy world last night with a barnstorming bumper evening of stand-up at the iconic Hammersmith Apollo.

10 acts whipped up a cheering crowd at Laugh or the Polar Bear Gets It, compered by the brilliant Charlie Baker. The crown got a non-stop roller-coaster of high energy acts from the expertly timed brilliance of Stewart Lee to a rip-roaring finale by Tony Law.

Vikki Stone's filthy sing-alongs and unrepeatable confessions from Richard Herring were just some of the fun from a night including appearances from Danny Bhoy, Dan Anotpolski's Jigsaw, Tiffany Stephenson, Josh Widdicombe and Francesca Martinez.

Here's our gallery of photos from the night.

Guests were gushing as they left the building clutching their Polar Bear masks over their heads to fend off lashing rain, all safe in the knowledge that George the Bear is safe for another year.

All profits went to Friends of the Earth's work to protect the environment and audience members gave generously on the night. Plans are already underway for next year. Watch this space for further detailsĀ and sign-up for email alerts.
