MPs join call for more clean green heat - not just hot air12 October 2010
Campaigners turned up the heat on the Government with a giant solar-powered hot air balloon outside the Houses of Parliament.
Friends of the Earth joined environmental, energy and business groups to call on the coalition to show its green promises are not just hot air - and bring in a Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI).
47 MPs turned up to support our call for a strong RHI, which would encourage more clean, green heat for homes and businesses across the country.

During the last Parliament all political parties pledged to introduce this incentive in April 2011.
But now reports suggest it could be delayed or watered down in the 20 October spending review.
Friends of the Earth's sustainable energy adviser Alan Simpson said: "Heating our homes and businesses is responsible for almost half the UK's carbon emissions - generating more heat from clean, green sources is vital in the fight against climate change."
Switching to planet-friendly ways of heating will also create jobs and help people save money on fuel bills.
