Samsung, answer the question20 February 2013
Nearly 15,000 of you have asked Samsung to reveal where the tin in its smartphones comes from.
Yet Samsung have so far failed to respond to your questions. So early this morning, Friends of the Earth visited Samsung HQ to leave staff a clear message.
We wanted the Make It Better campaign to be the talking point in Samsung HQ this morning.
We placed unmissable signs along the commute to their offices and you helped create a buzz on Twitter.
Message Received
The message got through - within hours Samsung had contacted us. We'll be meeting soon to ask if its products contain tin from Indonesia's Bangka island.
A third of the world's tin is from tropical Bangka island, where tin mining is destroying forests and coral - and wrecking fishermen's livelihoods.
The Make It Better campaign is calling for tough new rules to make companies come clean about the full impact of their production.
Send your own message to Samsung.
