Stop Esso Day
1 November 2001

On Saturday 1st December, Friends of the Earth local groups took part in a massive nationwide boycott of Esso petrol stations. Over 300 stations were targeted with thousands of individuals taking to the forecourts to ask motorists to join the boycott of Esso.

There was an excellent turn out with as many as 30 local group members demonstrating at some stations.

Motorists and pedestrians were handed leaflets explaining why Esso are the No 1 Climate Villains.

Pedestrians had a chance to stop and discuss the issues and to pledge their support for the boycott.
