Supporter of the week: Nathalie Lieven
To celebrate Friends of the Earth's 40th anniversary, I've been talking to some of the supporters who've made it all possible. Nathalie Lieven (right) is a barrister who takes on cases with the environment at their core.
"As a barrister, you can't think too hard about whether you agree with someone you're representing.
My charitable work for Friends of the Earth is different: I'm doing something I believe in - which is incredibly fulfilling.
"On behalf of Friends of the Earth, I've represented a diverse group of allotment holders who were unlucky enough to have plots on a proposed Olympic site.
"We were arguing for longer and better terms on their new site in Hackney Marsh.
"And I'm acting on behalf of residents close to London's City Airport, which wants to double its number of flights. I'm investigating whether the Government's climate change policy was taken into account in the planning."
"All this work makes my day job more interesting."
If you are interested in environmental justice, there are loads of ways your voice and support can make a difference.
Next week: Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall. To see all the supporters I've interviewed, visit our 40th anniversary gallery.
