To celebrate Friends of the Earth's 40th anniversary, I've been talking to some of the supporters who've made it all possible. Susan Poupard (right) is a web editor who's gone green.

"I've got greener since I started volunteering for Friends of the
Earth.

"And it inspired me to find a paid job in the environmental
field - I'm now a web editor at the Carbon Trust.

I don't fly on
holidays. Instead, I travel by train in Europe - it's much more fun.

"But you can't do everything. I have a great local food store called Unpackaged where you fill up your own containers.

"I wish I shopped there all the time. But a big supermarket nearby is much more convenient."
