2011

A new artistic partnership with The Opera Group
28 April 2011

Friends of the Earth has teamed up with award-winning opera company The Opera Group. The result is Save the Diva - a short opera focussing on climate change and consumerism.

Save the Diva will be performed guerrilla-style on the streets of five UK cities between May and July. It complements Seven Angels, a full-scale opera based on John Milton's Paradise Lost.

Seven Angels takes place in a post-apocalyptic future where the effects of a consumerist society and climate change on the environment are evident.

Local groups will be using the performances in their area to engage new audiences and stimulate discussion about envionmental issues.
