Government calls for your views on waste
30 July 2010

The Department for the Environment has launched a review of waste policy in England.

This is your chance to influence the Government's approach to waste.

Environment Secretary Caroline Spelman has announced a 'call for evidence' to look at all aspects of English waste policy and waste management.

There are 3 ways to respond:

The deadline for responding online is 9 September 2010, and the closing date for the more detailed 'call for evidence' is 7 October 2010.

Comments will then be considered and fed into the Government's review. The initial results of the review are due to be published in Spring 2011.

Friends of the Earth will be pushing for future policy to include high targets for recycling, to help kick start our green economy.

There is an economic and environmental urgency to developing the right waste strategy...

We want everyone to have their say on what waste policies should look like and how existing policies affect them... I would urge everyone to get involved.
