The Wheels to The Wave
7 October 2009

On Saturday 5 December thousands of people will gather in London for The Wave - the UK's biggest ever march for action on climate change.

Climate Chains are preparing to cycle 250 miles from Manchester Airport to London to join The Wave.

Wheels of change

Cyclists will set out for London on Tuesday 1 December. They'll visit some of the UK's biggest climate crime scenes on route.

Climate Chains hope to raise awareness of climate change along the way.

What's the plan?

The ride will commence from Manchester Airport and make stops at East Midlands and Heathrow airports.

The journey will also take in the coal-fired power stations at

  • Ratcliffe on Soar, Nottinghamshire
  • Didcot, Oxfordshire

Alternative route

Climate Chains are also co-ordinating a ride to The Wave from Leeds via:

  • Sheffield
  • Nottingham
  • Peterborough
  • Cambridge.
