Today Friends of the Earth welcomed the opening of the World Economic Forum, with 10 Anne Robinson look-a-likes challenging business participants to play the Weakest Link. Standing outside the Waldorf Astoria police cordon, Friends of the Earth International representatives exposed the weakest link actions of corporations, and called for global rules for business to strengthen corporate accountability.
And while government and business leaders enjoyed agastronomic Swiss-style feast, Friends of the Earth International, Amnesty International and the Service Employees International Union spelt out the damage being done to communities and the environment by the unregulated behaviour of international corporations.
