Choose Positive Energy
17 July 2002
Commenting on the Lord Mayor of Belfast signing the international 'Choose Positive Energy' petition today, John Woods, Head of Camaigns for Friends of the Earth (Northern Ireland) said:
"We can all chose positive energy by signing the global petition and, crucially, by buying our electricity on NIE's Eco-tariff. Where the Mayor and Belfast City Council have led, we can all follow.
"Flooding and famine caused by climate change affects the poorest
and most vulnerable people in the world most. We can all help by choosing
positive energy for our own homes and work places."
