You do not have to be a UK-resident to enter. Everyone has a favourite bit of the Earth so the competition is open to anyone on the planet. However some of the prizes are London based.

What film specifications do I need to follow?

We would like you to submit your film through our online entry form, but also post us a high quality version of your film on a DVD. Read more at How to Enter

If we have a broadcast quality copy of your film, we can screen it during and beyond the festival. This will guarantee maximum exposure for you – and us.

What's festival month?

This is September - when the public vote for their favourite one-minute film via our Friends of the Earth voting page and our panel of experts will judge the shortlisted films to select the best one-minute film.

Is there a prize for winning green films?

A number of prizes have already been secured but we hope to announce more in the coming weeks.

Can Friends of the Earth help me make a film?

Unfortunately we can not offer the hire of film equipment, facilities or rushes to help you make a film.

We can however, offer lots of inspiration. Read Our Story and watch some of our films.

We’ve also got some tips for making your production greener.

What happens to the films following the awards?

We hope the green films will continue to be a source of inspiration long after the competition concludes in October 2008.

We plan to organise special cinema screenings and to take a selection of films to festivals and events.

Where will films be screened?

All eligible entries will be shown on Friends of the Earth's YouTube channel, and a selection will be showcased on Friends of the Earth's website.

We take your entry into our competition as your agreement that we can show your film at festivals and other events.

Do send us a DVD of your film at broadcast quality when you enter so we can screen it widely. How to enter
