"Having
volunteered for six months, I have now been offered two really good
jobs in other organisations that I found through noticeboards and
talking to people at Friends of the Earth. Rather than deciding which
one to take initially, I have taken them both on as part-time jobs.
One is with an environmental consultancy in the city, the other as a
project assistant for the Conservation Foundation/Lloyds TSB."

Many volunteers go on to find paid work in environmental organisations. A large proportion of the current staff at Friends of the Earth are former volunteers.
