Press Release

TIME TO ACT LIKE "THE FIRST TRULY GREEN GOVERNMENT" FOE Demands Radical Labour Action on World Environment Day

05 Jun 1998

Commenting, FOE Executive Director Charles Secrett said:

“The Government must take firm action to stop the destruction of our precious environment. Labour has promised much but has so far delivered little. What better opportunity than World Environment Day for the Government to demonstrate its green credentials by spelling out how it will meet its 20% climate change target, and by guaranteeing protection for Britain's beleaguered nature reserves by promising a new Wildlife Protection Act in the next Queen's Speech?”
