The grounds for the appeal are that:
. the permission to plant the crops was granted to Sharpes Seeds not the National Institute of Agricultural Botany (NIAB);
. the seed regulation duties to have two replicated trials were not followed;
. and that the Secretary of State didn't properly consider the potential impact of the crop on the organic farm.
If the Court of Appeal permits a Judicial Review, lawyers representing Mr Watson will ask for it to be heard as soon as possible.
The time of the hearing will be known on Tuesday 14 July after 2:30 pm. Campaigners from FOE and the Soil Association will attend.
