Press Release

FOE Welcomes Think @bout London

14 Sep 2001

Friends of the Earth enthusiastically welcomed the launch today of Ford's 'Th!nk @bout London' initiative, which will introduce a fleet of battery-powered Th!nk electric cars to London for the first time.

Friends of the Earth is particularly pleased to see:

Roger Higman, Senior Climate and Transport Campaigner at Friends of the Earth said:

“Traffic is the major cause of air pollution in London and a significant contributor to global climate change. While London obviously needs better buses and trains, Th!nk@bout London shows how leading motor manufacturers can contribute by introducing cleaner, more efficient vehicles. Friends of the Earth congratulates Ford on this initiative, which we hope will be a blueprint for similar schemes throughout the UK and Europe”.
