Why is Friends of the Earth two separate organisations and what is the difference between them?

Friends of the Earth is two distinct organisations:

• Friends of the Earth Trust
• Friends of the Earth Limited

Trust is our registered charity through which most of our work is carried out. Work such as, awareness raising, research and campaigning.

Activities carried out by Friends of the Earth Limited mainly involve political lobbying.
