Is congestion charging the way to tackle London's traffic crisis?23 March 2011
Congestion charging is part of the solution. London has the worst traffic congestion in Britain.
Three years after the charge came into play, there was a 26% reduction in congestion.
But charging alone is not enough. People need incentives to change their travel habits and cut car dependency. Company Travel Plans and Safe Routes to School are also needed.
Please read our briefing about the congestion charge (PDF† - 90K).
More information available on the TFL website.
Congestion charging is just part of the solution.
