What is the difference between Friends of the Earth Trust and Limited? 14 March 2011
The work and finances of Friends of the Earth are split into two distinct areas:
- Friends of the Earth Trust
- Friends of the Earth Limited
Friends of the Earth Trust is a charity that provides research, information and educational materials to raise public awareness and create a better understanding of the solutions to environmental problems.
Under UK law charities are not allowed to have campaigning as their primary purpose.
Friends of the Earth Limited is a limited company which supports the charitable company through activist networks and international collaboration. It is funded almost entirely from supporters' contributions.
