What if nobody wants to be co-ordinator of our Friends of the Earth local group?

The prospect of becoming a local group Co-ordinator may seem daunting.

Finding out about what the role actually involves can be a useful way of stirring up interest.

The role covers three main areas:

  • Keeping a focus and commitment to action
  • Developing an effective and united team
  • Keeping the group organised

These can all be broken down into smaller tasks and shared amongst the group - taking the pressure of the Co-ordinator. The role itself could also be shared.

Your group may wish to discuss what the role absolutely needs to cover.

Still no luck? Don't worry

Try putting aside your campaign activities and starting a recruitment drive. Or try advertising the position in a volunteer centre.

The Activist Information Officer provides advice and support for Friends of the Earth local groups.
