Is buying up rainforest a good way to protect it?

Friends of the Earth does not encourage the purchase of rainforest.

Saving small areas of land can tie up valuable resources, whilst widespread destruction continues.

We believe in lobbying governments to provide proper legal protection for forests.

Governments should not rely on charities to protect the forests for them.

Take action to stop deforestation
