What is the Big Ask, Big Month, Big Lobby?

The Big Ask, Big Month, Big Lobby was a Friends of the Earth campaign to get a Climate Change Bill in the Queen's Speech. And we succeeded.

Put simply, the Queen's Speech is the Government's to-do list.

Hundreds of people visited their MP about climate change. The MPs were asked to write to Tony Blair and David Miliband (Environment Minister) calling for a Climate Change Bill in the Queen's Speech.

The visits covered nearly every single MP across the whole of the UK. It was a continuation of our biggest ever campaign, The Big Ask.

On November 15th 2006 – when the Queen announced a new Climate Change Bill – over 400 MPs backed the campaign.

Now let's make sure we get a strong climate change law
