Foe welcomes Government u-turn on funding energy saving trust

“Energy efficiency is the most cost-effective way of tackling climate change,so Friends of the Earth is delighted that the Government has reconsidered its absurd decision to cut £5 million from the Energy Saving Trust's budget.Cutting the Trust's budget sent all the wrong signals about the Government's commitment to tackling the problems of global climate change.
“However, the Trust is still miserably under-funded and will only achieve a fraction of the energy savings originally envisaged. If the Government wants to seriously tackle climate change and end fuel poverty it must insist that the energy industry keeps to its original targets for supporting the Trust.”
