Foe criticises new tory transport policy

PRESCOTT FACES HASTINGS BYPASSES LEGAL CHALLENGE
Commenting on the Conservatives new transport policy, announced today, Roger Higman, Senior Transport Campaigner at Friends of the Earth said:
"The Conservatives new transport policy is an environmental nightmare. Building more roads and cutting fuel duty will increase traffic levels and pump more climate-changing gases into the atmosphere. Rather than trying to score cheap political points Mr Jenkin should face up to the real transport problems we all face. The only solution to Britain's transport chaos is sustained investment in public transport - to give people an alternative to the car."
