The Food Ethics Council has published a new report today criticising a recent report by the Nuffield Council on bioethics and calling for a more cautious approach to GM food and crops.
Commenting on today's report, Adrian Bebb, biotech campaigner at Friends of the Earth said:
This report backs up what Friends of the Earth has been saying for a long time on this issue. Unfortunately, rather than adopting the precautionary principle towards GM crops and food the government has been playing Russian roulette with our countryside and health.
