NEWBURY SNAIL CASE - DECISION EXPECTED WEDNESDAY
18 June 1996
Today's application in the High Court by a coalition of local people and environmental groups seeking a judicial review over the Government's failure to protect the rare Desmoulin's whorl snail has been adjourned. The hearing will continue tomorrow (Wednesday 19 June) when a decision is expected.
The hearing will resume tomorrow at 10:30 am in Court 28, The High Court, the Strand. The media can attend.
The coalition consists of BBONT (The Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Naturalist's trust), Friends of the Earth, The Wildlife Trusts,The World Wide fund for nature (WWF-UK) and Richard and Janet Stephens.
