NEWBURY SNAIL: COURT DECISION 2PM ON TUESDAY
24 June 1996
A coalition of local people and environmental groups will discover tomorrow at 2pm (Tuesday 25 June) if they are succesful in their bid for a judicial review over the Government's failure to protect the rare Desmoulin's whorl snail on the route of the Newbury bypass.
Mr Justice Sedley will give his judgement at 2pm in the High Court (Court 28), The Strand. Members of the coalition will be available outside the court for comment afterwards.
The coalition comprises: BBONT (the local Wildlife Trust), Friends of the Earth, The Wildlife Trusts, The World Wide Fund For Nature (WWF-UK)and Richard and Janet Stephens (local residents).
