£460m boost is a vote of confidence for offshore wind
Reacting to news today (Monday 31 March 2014) that the Green Investment Bank is giving a £460m boost to wind energy projects, Friends of the Earth Renewable Energy Campaigner Alasdair Cameron said:
“This is a real vote of confidence for offshore wind. However, if we want to tackle the dire climate change threat we’re facing and strengthen our energy security we need to see a much bigger expansion of renewable energy, especially offshore.
“The Government must also urgently turn the Green Investment Bank into a proper bank, and allow it to borrow so it can invest in many more projects like this.”
