Conservatives publish green manifesto

Commenting on the Conservative environment manifesto - Action on the Environment [1] - published this evening, Friends of the Earth's political director, Mike Child's said:
"This new policy document largely covers policies announced recently in a speech by Environment spokesman Tim Yeo. We welcomed that speech as a good start, but more will need to be done to deliver the kind of year on year cuts in carbon dioxide needed to meet UK targets. These policies must to be a top priority for whoever wins the election. Every party should feature them prominently in their manifestoes and their campaigns."
