4 July 2012
Responding to publication of the final report today (Wednesday 4 July 2012), from the Independent Panel on Forestry, advising the Government on forestry and woodland policy, Friends of the Earth Nature Campaigner Paul de Zylva, said:
"We're delighted with the panel's findings and the Government's agreement to give their privatisation plans the chop and keep our public forests in public hands.
"England's woodlands are precious national public assets that provide real value for money by enhancing our wildlife, health and leisure."
