Richard Sandbrook

It was with great sadness that Friends of the Earth has learnt about the death of its former director Richard Sandbrook.
Richard helped establish Friends of the Earth in the UK in 1971, and was director of the organisation between 1974 and 1976. He then joined the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED), where he was director from 1989 until 1999.
Richard's passion and energy will be sorely missed. Out thoughts are with his family and friends.
