Thames Estuary airport plan would sell environment down the river
2 November 2011
Reacting to plans unveiled today (Wednesday 2 November 2011) by architect Lord Foster for a four-runway Thames Estuary airport, Friends of the Earth Aviation Campaigner Paul de Zylva said:
"A new Thames estuary airport would have a devastating impact on wildlife and local communities - all for overhyped promises of economic benefits that have been proven to be false.
"The aviation industry has been selling our environment down the river for far too long - Ministers must say no to airport expansion and the climate devastation it would bring."
