Do you work with children and young people?
Do you want to? Would you like to run education sessions about bees in schools?
If yes, then our bees education materials are for you.
All the resources are free to download below and suitable for primary school children (infant and junior). The card game can also be used with young people of secondary school age.
Getting started
- Background information on bees and helping them in schools.
- A guide to bees and the national curriculum in primary schools.
- A guide to bees and the national curriculum in secondary schools
The resources
- Plans for an assembly or talk about bees.
- Waggle dance game and accompanying bee-friendly flower pictures.
- A recording sheet to spot these flowers in the school grounds.
- UK biodiversity-themed card game, focussing on pollinators and a guide to how to play it. We've also got large versions for introducing the game to a class.
- A sponsorship form to raise money for your bee-friendly space.
- We've also paired up with Plantlife's Wild About Plants team to offer their wildflower surveys, which help junior children discover more about plants.
