Target clean power now
As MPs debate the new Energy Bill, now's the chance to take a giant step to tackle climate change.
Clean up our power system by removing the carbon from it, and free us from our dependence on fossil fuels
Create tens of thousands of new jobs for British workers and make us world leaders in renewable energy technology

Dear
,
Please support green jobs and take a vital step towards tackling climate change by voting for a clean power target in the Energy Bill at Report Stage. Almost 300 MPs support Tim Yeo and Barry Gardiner MPs' 'green jobs amendment' that would put a clean power target, and a plan to achieve it, into law. Government committing to a clear target about the scale and speed of carbon the UK will cut from our electricity system would give businesses the certainty they need to invest in clean energy and lead to thousands of new green jobs. It is supported by hundreds of investors, businesses, and charities. Putting Britain's power sector on a green path would also protect bill payers from costly and polluting gas, which threatens to push up household bills by 600 GBP more than if electricity is largely decarbonised by 2030. This is once in a generation opportunity to bring down carbon emissions, curb energy bill rises, and create thousands of new green jobs. Please add your name to amendments 11-20 tabled by MPs Tim Yeo and Barry Gardiner for a decarbonisation target and vote for them in Parliament.
Yours,
