Guardian Sustainable Business Awards 2012
We're delighted to be sponsoring the Biodiversity award at the Guardian Sustainable Business Awards, which take place on 30 May at King's Place in London.
We'll be doing something exciting on the evening, using the theme of our forthcoming campaign on bees.
Two things set these apart from other awards. First, every entry that meets the awards criteria will feature on The Guardian’s Best Practice Exchange - a space to share good examples of sustainable business.
Second, they're recognised as a leading environmental awards scheme with accreditation from the Royal Society of Arts. This also means future winners of the awards will be eligible to enter the prestigious European Business Awards for the Environment.
PEA Business Awards 2012
Friends of the Earth was the charity partner of the PEA Business Awards 2012. The event was hosted by Liz Bonnin, presenter of the BBC’s Bang Goes the Theory, and took place at The Orangery, Kensington Palace on 26 January 2012.
We also sponsored the Corporate and Social Responsibility award which asked businesses to think about the effect that they have on the climate.
A key feature of the evening for us was our high-value raffle - which created a real buzz. Prizes were generously donated by Vinceremos Organic Wines, Eco-Consultancy and River Cottage and all the proceeds from the raffle will help fund our vital campaigning work.
Joe Jenkins, Director of Fundraising, Communications and Activism, said:
