About this Group

We are a long established group of 6-8 members working mainly on national campaigns.  We have stalls, lobby our MPs, hold fund raising events and occasional social events.

Climate Change Awareness Day

Saturday 14th March 2015 was Climate Change Awareness Day in Bolton.  We joined forces with Bolton Against Fracking, Bolton Socialist Club, Bolton Green Party, Bolton Diggers and the One Million Climate Jobs Campaign to talk to people in the town centre, invite them to sign anti-fracking petitions and give out leaflets.

Bee Inspired Garden Party

On Sunday 27th. July we teamed up with The Kitchen on Great Moor Street to hold a Bee Inspired Garden Party at the Mutual Aid Centre in Deane (formally the Green House).  The party was a celebration of both the Bee Cause campaign and a year of courses provided by The Kitchen with funding from NLDC.

Anti-fracking events in Westhoughton and Daisy Hill

We took part in Bolton Against Fracking's awareness raising event in Westhoughton on Saturday 17th May and their public meeting at Daisy Hill Cricket Club on Tuesday 20th May.  At the meeting some films about fracking were introduced by Steven Hall.

Final sale at the canopy

On Saturday 10th May we held our final sale of second hand goods at the canopy in Victoria Square.  Bolton Council have decided to demolish the canopy, which was donated to the town by Marks and Spencers.  They are consulting with organisations that use the canopy and will soon announce how they will continue to support the vitally important work of the voluntary sector by providing a
