Demonstrate outside Nottinghamshire Planning Committee who are deciding whether to allow exploratory drilling for shale gas by Dart Energy at Tinker Lane, between Barnby Moor and Blyth, N Notts.
From 9am, Tuesday 21 March, outside County Hall. (Planning meeting starts at 10am.) See Frack Free Notts website for details.
Dart Energy has a poor record of failing to develop commercial exploitation of coal bed methane. It previously drilled at Daneshill, near Tinker Lane, with a number of breaches of planning conditions. Dart's parent company IGas has serious financial problems but was still given planning permission to drill at Misson Springs, nr Bawtry. Chemical company Ineos also has a 45% interest in the Tinker Lane site - this is the company that has plans to frack large areas around Sherwood Forest.
