Bee World in bloom
Once it was a patch of grass in an east London park. Now it's a Bee World in bloom – alive with bees and other insects.
In March 2014 we helped plant a Bee World in Walthamstow, east London.
Local families and members of Waltham Forest Friends of the Earth prepared the ground and sowed flower seeds.
A few months later and there are countless bees and other pollinators among the blooms.
The bees arrived first.
Rebecca Tully and Nat Harding, from Waltham Forest Friends of the Earth, hammer in the Bee World plaque.
Rebecca and Nat were joined by local Councillors Paul Douglas and Louise Mitchell. But it was the bees and the flowers that stole the day.
