Overnight, Friends of the Earth built a meadow of bee-friendly plants in London to launch its bid to save the bee.
If UK bee populations continue to decline it will cost the nation billions, sending our food prices rocketing.
That’s why Friends of the Earth launched The Bee Cause and urged the Government to help save these important pollinators.

A sudden wildflower meadow in the shadow of London’s National Theatre - complete with costumed bee activists - highlighted the need for more bee-friendly habitats.
The Government must come forward with an action plan to protect British bees - and suspend the use of pesticides linked to the decline in bee populations.
Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg highlighted Friends of the Earth’s bee campaign – The Bee Cause – in a speech today referring to the environment’s vital role in our economy.
Anyone who's been on the Southbank this morning will have seen Friends of the Earth have turned it into a wildflower meadow to publicise the importance of bees to UK GDP.
