Working at Friends of the Earth

Friends of the Earth is the UK's most influential environmental campaigning organisation and part of the most extensive environmental network in the world - but we can only be successful with a strong team of volunteers and employees.

We see things differently and know there are ways to fix the problems on our planet:

  • We want to see nature being better protected and recovering.
  • And we want to see people across the world enjoying a better standard of living.

We're famous for:

  • Winning the world's first climate change law
  • That green recycling bin on your doorstep
  • Support for green energy.

Individuals are our lifeblood. We rely on people who want to protect the environment – and want to help.

So what’s it like to work for Friends of the Earth? Well, here’s what staff have to say:

I love working at Friends of the Earth. The work couldn’t be more important – campaigning for a world where everyone can survive and thrive – and our continued success on things like the Climate Change Act or saving the UK solar industry keep me really motivated.

We’re relentlessly ambitious, trying to change politics to change the world. But our incredible supporters, local groups, volunteers and staff give me daily confidence that if anyone’s going to do it, we will.

Oli Hayes, Campaigner

It’s rewarding because I am able to develop my professional expertise and apply this to the cause I passionately care about.

It’s a privilege to work with so many expert, talented and hugely ambitious people who want to make the world a better place. No two days are the same, there’s always a new challenge and sense of achievement. I’m proud to say I work for such a successful and well-respected charity.
